Mantec Technical Ceramics plays a particularly important role within the global heavy clay sector for brick and tiles.

Mantec’s innovative energy efficient insulation material Ultralite™ has been saving money, improving efficiency, and reducing maintenance time within the brick and tile manufacturing sector for many years. The use of Ultralite for the construction of the kiln cars has demonstrated a major advantage over the previous fibre/vermiculite construction in terms of its thermal efficiency.

Key role in a Greener Future

Mantec Technical Ceramics and Carbon Neutrality

Mantec Technical Ceramics has taken great strides forward in terms of environmental impact. Three of its energy saving ranges, Ultralite ULF 10, 12 and 14, have now been officially classified as Carbon Neutral Products, as certified by the leading international validation body, ClimatePartner.

The refractory products involved are Ultralite free-flowing loose fill media – non-hazardous, inert, thermally efficient insulation materials most commonly used in cars in tunnel kilns. Ultralite is produced at Mantec’s facility in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, using a special, proprietary process.

Meanwhile, Mantec’s Bullers™ Rings are recognised as an essential part of the Quality Assurance System for many of the world’s leading brick and roof tile manufacturers to check and monitor the control and uniform application of ‘heat work’ inside a kiln, thereby ensuring consistent and reliable production.
